UNESCO's 8th Policy Dialogue Forum of the Teacher Task Force for Education 2030 took place in Mexico City and was broadcast to remote attendees.
Objective
Those unable to attend the 8th Policy Dialogue Forum of the Teacher Task Force for Education 2030 in Mexico City were given the opportunity to watch the events on Shindig. Events included presentations, informal discussions and a press conference.
Strategy
Online participants were encouraged to join the conversation on Twitter by using the hashtag #ttfmx16 and #Education2030. As a multicultural audience, many languages were spoken, with participants translating with each other in the side bar mingling. The Lamar University doctoral student team carried out the Social Media strategy by tying in their WordPress blog, Twitter and Shindig.
Results
In addition to streaming live via Shindig, the event was also live tweeted from @ADELamarEdu. Shindig was also included in the UNESCO Recommendations iBook as part of their Social Media strategy: "Through the use of prominent social media platforms and technology tools such as Twitter, blogs, and live streaming, the team sought to make the use of social media and digital media 'irresistibly engaging' to the UNESCO team and the global community at large.”
